Paper of Engineering/Computer Science/BS Maths of NUST Entrance Test 2011 held on 17 July 2011 will be retaken. New date of entry test for these programs is given as below:-

21 August 2011 (Sunday) – Engg/Computer Science/BS Math

All those candidates who appeared in NUST Entrance Test – 2011 on 17 July 2011 (Sunday) are directed to present / report themselves at their previous designated examination venues / centres at 0800 hrs on 21 August 2011 re-appearing in the test accordingly. New admit cards can be downloaded after login to ugadmission.nust.edu.pk.

LAHORE, July 25: The University of Engineering and Technology has announced that the combined entrance test for admission to engineering institutions in Punjab will be re-organised on Sept 11 on the basis of already submitted applications and allocated roll numbers.

Meanwhile, the UET’s admission committee convenor Prof Dr Saleem Abid Tabassum and Chief Coordinator Entry Test-2011 Prof Dr Ijaz Ahmad Chaudhry have resigned from their posts following leak of entrance test question paper and its subsequent cancellation.

Some 41,000 candidates had appeared for the entrance test at different examination centres in the province.

Accepting the resignations, the UET administration has constituted a new admission committee comprising Computer Science and Engineering Department chairman Prof Dr Muhammad Ali Maud (convener), Prof Dr Asim Lone, former Prof Ahmad Saeed Sheikh, Lt. Col (retired) Farooq Ahmad Khan, controller of examination Muhammad Asif and Muhammad Awais Hassan.

VC Lt-Gen (retired) Muhammad Akram, admitting the blunder was done, said he decided to cancel the test to ensure that no cheater should get admission to engineering institutions.

He said the university had also removed some low-rank officials working in the department.

The varsity, he said, was in the process of matching some handwriting specimens of its faculty members, besides trying to
trace the voices recorded during some telephonic conversations to nab the culprits responsible for the leak.

LAHORE – The UET vice chancellor has constituted a new admission committee for the entry test after resignations tendered by Prof Dr Saleem Abid Tabasum as Convener Admission Committee and Prof Dr Ijaz Ahmad Ch as Chief Coordinator Entry Test 2011, said the varsity spokesman.
The new date for the combined entry test for admission in Punjab engineering institutions will be September 11. The test will be conducted on the basis of already submitted applications and allocated roll numbers, he added.
The committee included Prof Dr Muhammad Ali Maud, Chairman Computer Science & Engineering Department (convener), Dr Asim Lone, Prof Electrical Engineering Department (member) and others.

As part of the U.S. State Department's "100 Strong Initiative," the Coca-Cola Foundation awarded $1million in grants to six different U.S. colleges and universities to send 150 students to study abroad in China. Along with grants from several other U.S. companies, this grant supports President Obama's plan to see 100,000 U.S. students study abroad in China over the next four years, with an ultimate goal of creating stronger relations between citizens of the United States and China, starting with the next generation of employees and employers. These study abroad programs specialize in culture, sports, science and technology, women's issues, and studying the Chinese language.

Students being sent abroad as part of this initiative are taking part in several different kinds of programs: business programs, internship programs, language immersion programs, and programs of culture and regional studies.
